Day 1: Arrival in Colombo & Transfer to Negombo
- Arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, Colombo.
- Transfer to Negombo (approx. 30-45 minutes drive).
- Relax on Negombo Beach—enjoy the sun, take a swim, or explore the Negombo Lagoon.
- Visit the Dutch Fort, St. Mary’s Church, and the Fishing village to see the local culture and the fishing industry.
- Overnight stay in Negombo.

Day 2: Negombo to Sigiriya
- After breakfast, depart for Sigiriya (approx. 4-4.5 hours drive).
- En route stop at Dambulla: Visit the Dambulla Cave Temple (Golden Temple), a UNESCO World Heritage site with stunning murals and Buddha statues.
- Arrive in Sigiriya and relax.
- In the late afternoon, visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, another UNESCO World Heritage site. Climb the 200m high rock for panoramic views and to explore the ancient ruins of a royal palace and gardens.
- Overnight stay in Sigiriya.
Day 3: Sigiriya to Kandy
- Morning: Option to visit Polonnaruwa (UNESCO site) to explore ancient ruins and the Gal Vihara (rock temple).
- Head towards Kandy (approx. 2.5-3 hours drive).
- In the evening, visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy (a UNESCO site). It houses one of Buddhism’s holiest relics—Lord Buddha’s tooth.
- Kandy Lake: Take a leisurely stroll around the lake or enjoy the view from the lakeside.
- Option for a Cultural Dance Performance to experience traditional Kandyan dances.
- Overnight stay in Kandy.
Day 4: Explore Kandy
- Royal Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya: Explore this large, beautifully landscaped garden that houses a rich collection of flora.
- Kandy Viewpoint: Head to a viewpoint for panoramic views of Kandy town and the surrounding hills.
- Explore the local markets or visit the Kandy National Museum to delve into Sri Lanka’s history.
- If you’re interested in a scenic train ride, you could take a short ride around Kandy for a different view of the area.
- Overnight stay in Kandy.
Day 5: Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
- Depart for Nuwara Eliya (approx. 2.5-3 hours drive), a charming hill station known as “Little England.”
- Visit a Tea Factory: Tour a tea plantation and factory, learn about tea production, and enjoy a fresh cup of Ceylon tea.
- Gregory Lake: Relax by this beautiful lake, with options for boating or a leisurely walk around it.
- Visit the Victoria Park for a peaceful stroll through one of the most beautiful parks in Sri Lanka.
- Nuwara Eliya Town: Explore the colonial buildings, including the Nuwara Eliya Post Office, and enjoy a cup of tea at the Hill Club.
- Overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.
Day 6: Explore Nuwara Eliya & Surroundings
- Morning: Option for a scenic train ride from Nuwara Eliya to Ella (depending on your interests and time). This offers one of the most picturesque train journeys in the world.
- Horton Plains National Park: For a nature lover, take a half-day trip to Horton Plains, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for the World’s End (a cliff with breathtaking views).
- If you prefer something less adventurous, continue to explore the tea plantations and enjoy the cool mountain climate.
- Return to Nuwara Eliya for a relaxing evening.
- Overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.
Day 7: Nuwara Eliya to Colombo (or Negombo) for Departure
- Depart for Colombo (approx. 5-5.5 hours drive) or return to Negombo for easier access to the airport (approx. 2.5 hours drive).
- If you have time, enjoy a Colombo city tour visiting Gangaramaya Temple, Independence Square, and the Galle Face Green.
- Depending on your flight time, enjoy a bit of last-minute shopping at Odel, Crescent Mall, or the Pettah Market.
- Transfer to the airport for your departure.
