Day 1: Airport – Negombo

Meet your guide on arrival at the Colombo air-port & transfer to a beach hotel in Negombo. You can visit a fishing village or leisure at the beach if you have time. Negombo is the closest beach destination to the air port. 

Spend the overnight at your hotel in Negombo.

Day 2: Negombo – Anuradhapura

After having breakfast at your hotel, leave to Anuradhapura.

Anuradhapura is the first capital of ancient SriLanka, famous for its well-preserved ruins of ancient Sri Lankan civilization. The city, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Visit Eight Great Places of Veneration in Anuradhapura (Atamasthana); Sri Maha Bodhiya, Ruwanwelisaya, Thuparamaya, Lovamahapaya, Abhayagiri Dagaba, Jetavanarama, Mirisaveti Stupa Lankarama.

Spend the overnight at your hotel in Anuradhapura.

Day 3: Sigiriya – Polonnaruwa

After breakfast visit Sigiriya, a place with a large stone and ancient rock fortress and palace ruins declared as  a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Sigiriya is considered one of the most important urban planning sites of the first millennium, and the site plan is considered very elaborate and imaginative.

In the evening explore the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, The second most ancient of Sri Lanka’s kingdoms. Lankatilaka temple, Gal Viharaya, Medirigiriya Vatadage, etc… are some of the highlights of Polonnaruwa. 

Spend the overnight at your hotel in Sigiriya.

Day 4: Dambulla - Kandy

After breakfast visit Dambulla cave temple, also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla, declared as a World Heritage Site. It is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka.  After visiting Dambulla, proceed to Kandy. En-route, visit a Spice Garden in Matale. Kandy was the last capital of the ancient kings’ era of Sri Lanka. Kandy is the home of the Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri DaladaMaligawa), one of the most sacred places of worship in the Buddhist world. It was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1988. Have a city tour in Kandy visiting the Temple of Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa).

In the evening witness a spectacular cultural dance show.Spend the overnight at your hotel in Kandy.        

Day 5: Pinnawala – Air port

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is an orphanage, nursery and captive breeding ground for wild Asian elephants located at Pinnawala village. It has the largest herd of captive elephants in the world. In 2011, there were 96 elephants, including 43 males and 68 females from 3 generations, living in Pinnawala Leave to the airport for departure
